Go-To-Market Strategy Consulting

A Costed Route To Market

Custom go-to-market strategies built on real customer evidence — so a launch is execution against a costed plan, not a series of arguments.

Know Exactly How You Win This Market

We define who you're selling to, what makes you the obvious choice, which channels earn the budget, and exactly what happens in the first 90 days.

Why it matters

Why Your Business Needs Go-To-Market Consulting

Accelerate market entry

Launches stall in the gap between "the product is ready" and "someone knows how to sell it." A GTM plan closes that gap before launch week, so the first quarter is execution rather than argument.

Maximise sales efficiency

When the ICP is vague, reps spend their time on deals that were never winnable. Sharpening who you sell to — and what makes you the obvious choice — lowers cost of acquisition without touching the budget.

Adapt and thrive

Markets move: a competitor repositions, a category gets crowded, a buyer's priorities shift. A living GTM strategy gives you a way to re-decide deliberately instead of reacting campaign by campaign.

Sound familiar?

If Any Of This Is True, You Are Not Alone

“We launched and nothing happened.”

Effort was never the problem. The segment, the position against the incumbent, or the channel choice was decided by opinion rather than evidence.

“Sales and marketing describe the customer differently.”

Two definitions of the ICP means two funnels, two messages and a permanent argument about lead quality.

“A competitor repositioned and now we sound like them.”

Differentiation that was never written down erodes quietly until the category reads as interchangeable.

“We cannot say which channel deserves the next dollar.”

Without a costed channel plan and a tracked funnel, budget goes to whichever channel had the best month.

“The plan is a deck nobody opens.”

A go-to-market strategy without owners, dates and metrics is a document, not a plan.

“We are winning deals we should not, and losing ones we should.”

Almost always a positioning problem: the offer is being understood as something adjacent to what it is.

The framework

Five Decisions, Then A Dated Plan

Every pillar above is a decision someone has to own. We make them explicit, write them down, and then cost the plan that follows.

THE GTM FRAMEWORK…delivered on a 90-day trackMarketTAM, segments,competitive setCustomerICP, buyingcommittee, triggersOfferPositioning, proof,pricing & packagingChannelWhere demand isearned and capturedMotionSales model, comp,service levelsDays 0–30EvidenceDays 31–60BuildDays 61–90Launch & learn
Five decisions, then a dated plan. Nothing ships until the five above it are settled.

The five pillars

  • Market — addressable market, segmentation, competitive set and where the white space is
  • Customer — ICP definition, buying committee, trigger events, the job being done
  • Offer — positioning, proof, objection handling, pricing and packaging
  • Channel — which channels earn budget, which are noise, and what each must return
  • Motion — sales model, territory and comp implications, service levels, handoffs

The 90-day track

  • Days 0–30 · Evidence — customer and lost-deal interviews, competitive teardown, data review, internal alignment sessions
  • Days 31–60 · Build — positioning and messaging locked, channel plan costed, content and enablement built, tracking wired
  • Days 61–90 · Launch & learn — campaigns live, weekly readouts against the metrics agreed on day one, plan revised on evidence

What we do

Our Go-To-Market Services

GTM strategic roadmapping

Entering a market or launching a product

The full strategy: segmentation and ICP, positioning and messaging architecture, competitive differentiation, pricing and packaging input, channel strategy with budget allocation, and a phased roadmap with owners, dates and the metrics each phase is judged on.

Sales and marketing alignment

When both teams are busy and the number still misses

One funnel definition, agreed stage criteria and handoff rules, service levels for follow-up, shared reporting, and the enablement sales actually needs — battlecards, objection handling and proof assets built from real deals, not from a brand deck.

Custom ABM strategies

When your market is a countable list of companies

Where the GTM points at named accounts, we design the account-based program that goes with it: tiering, buying-committee mapping, per-tier plays and the measurement model. See our ABM services →

Effective demand generation

When the strategy is set and needs to produce pipeline

The demand engine underneath the strategy — paid search and paid social, content and SEO, lifecycle email and retargeting, wired into a CRM so every opportunity is traceable back to what created it.

Most launches don't fail on effort. They fail on unmade decisions.

Who exactly is this for, why you over the incumbent, which channels earn the money, and what happens in the first 90 days — settled, written down and costed.

Our methodology

The Account Engine

Every account-based programme we run moves through the same six stages, in the same order. It is the reason two different clients get the same rigour rather than whatever their strategist happened to prefer.

THE ACCOUNT ENGINE01ObjectiveThe revenue number02ICPWho can actually buy03TargetaccountsThe named, tiered list04ValuepropositionA message per role05PlaybooksThe plays per tier06Delivery &measurementPipeline, not leadsEvery won account re-enters at stage 01 as an expansion objective
The Account Engine — the six stages every NewLife account-based programme runs through, in order.

01 · Objective

The number the programme is judged on, the motion that gets there, and who owns each part. Agreed with sales and finance before anything is built.

02 · ICP

Firmographic, technographic and behavioural definition of accounts that can buy at your size and expand afterwards — not everyone who could theoretically use the product.

03 · Target accounts

A finite target account list, tiered 1:1 / 1:few / 1:many by what each account is worth, scored for fit and signed off by sales.

04 · Value proposition

What changes for the economic buyer, the champion, the technical evaluator and the blocker — each answered separately, because they are asking different questions.

05 · Playbooks

The channels, content and sequences that run against each tier, with entry and exit criteria so a play either earns its place or stops.

06 · Delivery & measurement

Account coverage, buying-committee reach, pipeline created and influenced, velocity and win rate — reported with the attribution window stated.

The go-to-market itself

Go-To-Market Strategy FAQ

What GTM consulting actually covers, who owns it, how long it takes and what it costs — answered plainly.

What is a go-to-market strategy?

A go-to-market strategy is the plan for how you take an offer to a market and win: which segment you are selling to, what your position is against the alternatives, how the offer is packaged and priced, which channels carry it, and what the sales motion looks like. It is a set of decisions with numbers attached — distinct from a marketing plan, which is the activity that follows once those decisions are made.

What is go-to-market consulting?

It is bringing in an outside team to make and pressure-test those decisions with you. In practice that means interviewing your customers and lost deals, tearing down the competitive set, defining the ICP, writing the positioning, costing the channel plan, and producing a dated roadmap your team can execute. Good GTM consulting ends with a plan someone owns, not a presentation.

What is the role of the go-to-market team?

The GTM team is everyone whose work touches the revenue motion — product marketing, demand generation, sales, sales enablement, customer success and often finance and product. Their shared job is making sure the market hears one coherent story and gets one coherent experience from first touch to renewal. The common failure is each function optimising its own metric while the story fragments.

Why do you need GTM services?

Usually because something specific is wrong: a launch underperformed, a new segment isn't converting, sales and marketing disagree on who the customer is, or a competitor repositioned and your messaging suddenly reads like theirs. An outside team brings the customer evidence and the willingness to say the uncomfortable thing — which is much harder to do from inside the org chart.

What does a GTM consulting firm do?

Research (customer interviews, lost-deal analysis, competitive and market review), decisions (segmentation, ICP, positioning, pricing input, channel strategy), documentation (messaging framework, battlecards, roadmap), and enablement (getting sales and marketing operating from the same plan). Some, including us, will also execute the plan afterwards rather than handing it over and leaving.

Is GTM strategy just B2B marketing?

No. Marketing is one input. A go-to-market strategy also covers pricing and packaging, the sales motion and compensation implications, channel and partner decisions, and the service model after the sale. Marketing executes a big part of it, but a GTM strategy that only covers marketing is a marketing plan wearing a bigger name.

How long does a GTM engagement take, and what does it cost?

A focused engagement runs about 90 days: roughly 30 days gathering evidence, 30 building and locking the strategy, and 30 launching against it with weekly readouts. Cost is scoped to the work — the number of segments, whether we run the customer interviews, and whether we execute afterwards — and quoted plainly before anything starts. There is no package tier and no public price list.
